Xr600r carb removal with tank on?

I thought I read somewhere that the oem carb on single carb models can be removed without tank removal. Anyone know about this? Thanks.

It's possible to remove the fuel bowl for jetting changes without disturbing anything else.

It's very easy to remove the two seat bolts plus the two tank bolts and the rubber tank strap.  It's worth removing the three air box bolts to shift the air box rearward half an inch, just enough to making getting the carb out of the boots effortless.

Thanks H.o.d. I must have been thinking of the float bowl. I did exactly as you said and it came out with a little elbow grease. :-)
