2001 DRZ 250 Street Legal?

I recently purchased a 2001 Suzuki DRZ 250...Im under the impression the bike was converted to street legal before but they took the plate holder and left the plate light, horn and what not...heres my question..." Do i still have to go trough the proccess to convert it to street legal if it once was ca plated and street legal?"

Check with the DMV when you transfer the title.  If the bike really was street registered before, you can get a new plate and tags issued.  I went through this with a dual-sported Yamaha dirt bike a few years back.

Do you have a Title?  If so, you should be fine.  Just add back whatever is missing.  If no title you can try the VT route.  http://www.advrider.com/forums/showthread.php?t=655441
