cycra pro bend handguard installation

Hi,

 

Can anyone post a step by step installation guide for the cycra probend handguards on a DRZ400S.  I'm having a hard time getting them around the brake fluid gauge and levers.  I'm very green when it comes to dirtbikes and anything mechanical so pics would be a huge help.

I do not know what a "brake fluid gauge" is.  Post  picture showing where you are having fit problems.

In my experience, you need to plan to do a bit of bending of the aluminum to make them fit around things.  Mine fit perfectly, but only after a sequence of iterative bend/fit/bend/fit tries (probably about six or seven iterations), until it all worked.  Things are a bit crowded on the DRZ-S, especially with the stock speedo in the way.

Did you buy the normal ones or the CRM (Center Reach Mount) ones? I bought the CRM ones and they wouldnt fit unless I moved the speedo over.

Also, what mounts are you using, triple clamp or bar?

 

I didn't have to bend my bars, but the triple clamp mounts were a HUGE pain to mod for fit. I had to take out material from the mounting holes and for the brake banjo bolt, as well.

You will need longer triple tree bolts. I think the ones i got were 60 mm length.
