first valve check

Recommended Posts

I decided after about 3 hrs or so on my new rmz, Id have a look at my valve clearances. I must say it was real easy (its my 1st 4 stroke)....but...when I got to the intake side, the spec the manual gives you is .10mm ~ .15mm and I then realised that my Craftsman feeler gauge begins with .127mm, which would not fit :D but thats only half way through the range. So anyway I'll be purchasing a finer set of gauges tomorrow. But I was wondering about anyone elses experiences with their valves after break-in. Are tight valves common? Just wondering...-Hammy

p.s. the exh side were good :)

tight valves have been common but the tighter it is the less space the valves have to set back in to place.
