The FX and WR have the same wide ratio transmission.  This easily verified on partzilla.

Here's 5th gear, you can see it's shared between the 2016 through 2018 WR450fs and YZ450FX: https://www.partzilla.com/product/yamaha/5TJ-17151-20-00?ref=0ad3fcf6e61ade1521031305a6975cbdbd673df8

In 2019 and 2020 both the WR450f and YZ450FX share the same 5th: https://www.partzilla.com/product/yamaha/5TJ-17151-21-00?ref=5bdac0d789313023a030f8a26f1bc9c35a4ba898

Same with 1st gear (2016-2020 for WR450F and YZ450FX): https://www.partzilla.com/product/yamaha/5TJ-17121-20-00?ref=0ad3fcf6e61ade1521031305a6975cbdbd673df8

You didn't have to go through the trouble I believe you, I couldn't remember if they did or didnt

Any new maps for 2019+ wr450f? Looking for the smoothest.

You want a smooth power curve?  This one is a smooth power and accel

0 0 0.        0 0 0

-3 0 0.        -5 -3 0

This one is a smooth linear power curve, ideal for slippery conditions

2 2 2.           -5 -5 -6

2 2 2.          -5 -6 -6

3 3 0.           1 2 3

4 4 1.            2 2 2

Give a couple of those a try if you can

I live and ride around 5000 feet elevation. I am curious if I need to lean out the maps suggested to compensate for the elevation or can I use the maps suggested in this thread and the bike does the adjusting.

Thanks!

that's the beauty of FI the computer does that shit for you

Looking for an ECU for 2012 WR450.  Can't find one anywhere.  Any advice?  Would a newer one work, like a 2016?

eBay, craigslist, thumpertalk classifieds, etc.

The 2016 ones would not work.

Thanks for the link.  It said it had it but didn't really.  It Led me to a guy at Full Throttle Sports in MI that said he has received numerous calls on this part.  The only one in the country he guessed:)  Thanks again.

Throttle twitchiness: new 2020 WR250F

Has anyone else exrperienced throttle twitchiness in the (derestricted) 2020 WR250F?

Assume it's identical in this respect to the 2021

Is this expected in the bike brand new, with stock map?
