New lid and cam

Hello there!

I've just purchased a lazer helmet for the price of £100 in a sale and also a reconditioned drift hd170 and 32gb sd card.

Anyone any experience with the either if these items?

To be fair I couldn't afford a high end helmet so I think a £100 helmet in a sale should be up to the job?

Cheers

Hi mate,

Your helmet will likely do the job, but!, and thats a big but, (not a big butt), you should look into getting a dual density foam lid in the future (if it isn't).

The long and skinny of the tech is that off road crashes are at a lower pace than street crashes, and happen more regularly. The single density and older spec helmets are designed a bit "firmer" and protect well at high speed in which the old design rules (in the US) specified. The trade off unfortunately is they transfer more shock to the head and thus brain than a dual density foam helmet in low speed and repeated get offs.

Another important thing is to throw it away after a big accident.

Don't know a thing about the camera.

I appreciate that advice!

Once I get a decent amount of cash together I'm going to look into it.

I also have a full face road going helmet but I would like to purchase a decent lid that I can use on-road and off-road for trail riding

Any chance you got suggest a helmet of the same shape as the lazer?

Thank you

Ken

I'm assuming by "same shape" you mean an ordinary dirt bike helmet, or do you mean something more dual sport suited.

If you want a pure dirt helmet, just go into the shop and get a dual density foam helmet that fits great and looks good to your tastes. If you want the other sort I'm not so sure but I think "Shark" makes such helmets:

That is a very nice lid right there!!

Not sure on the carbon effect but design/shape looks a winner!!

Prob should have asked before I bought the lazer but the lid I was using is terrible-onwards and upwards!!!!

Cheers
