One ring piston

Recommended Posts

I know they cause less drag and more wear, but my question is, will it wear just the rings more, or the cylinder as well. Thanks.

Btw I got a one ring piston free with my bike, and I don't think that's what come stock.

I could be wrong, but AFAIK two piston ring pistons last longer between rebuilds and generally have longer life.

BUT, the two piston rings causes more wear to the cylinder itself. Thats what I've read on TT anyway!

If your bike is a MXer it likely came with a single ring piston.

Okay thanks, I have an older rm 125 (1998) and was just worried about quick wear. Thanks again.
