FCR kit...Pre-purchase advice.

Recommended Posts

I'm hours away from making the FCR dream a reality.  Want to verify settings and looking for tips on where to buy needed parts.

I'm running a stock S with a full yosh and a 3x3.  I usually ride at 3000-6000 ft (4000-5000 most times).  Low humidity with winter riding temps in the 40s and Summer in the 80s.   If I am not mistaken, I need to be running the EMP needle as opposed to the EMN?  Also, most likely a 150 main?  I would like to know the best spot/price to pick up the needle and jet.  Looking to avoid dropping an addt'l $72+ on a jet kit if I don't have to.

Holler back!  Thanks!

Well documented here that all you need in the way of jets and needles can be purchased from, http://www.jetsrus.com/,http://www.sudco.com/

Also well documented that Eddie will spec your carb for your elevation and bike setup.

Also documented what jets and needle the TT FCR kit comes with.

Hence my helpful response, if it was just a needle and MJ question I would not have responded that way as elevation can complicate things.

Thanks guys.  I saw the post in "The Bible" regarding jetting.  Just wanted to see if there was a big difference in opinion and make sure I got close on my first try.  Biggest question was on where to get parts.  I can't wait!

I assume this is the EMP I'm looking for?  http://www.jetsrus.com/individual_parts/017_264_su.html  And the Jet page... http://www.jetsrus.com/a_jets_by_carburetor_type/jets_keihin_99101-357_main_Hex_25-xxx.htm

I'm running an older (2005ish) Yosh RS3 with the longer spark arrestor (not the free-flowing dome screen).  Is that considered a "quiet" or "Restricted" core?  That pipe sure ain't quiet!  I see they offer a 152 as well...

The links are correct, use genuine Keihin jets...the 150mj will be ok with that pipe, if that arrestor is removable it probably needs a de-carboning...

It wouldn't hurt to buy a few extra jets around the size you need...
