Starter clutch fix?

Getting ready to do the stator/started clutch fix.

 

Im a little confused on one thing though...I saw on here the microfiche that the factory assembly is wrong.

ok...here is where im confused.  first... is this the part i have circled that the diagram is showing?

second...is it installed incorectly from the factory and does it need to be "fixed" according to the diagram?

 

third...does this piece need to be removed to threadlock the starter clutch bolts?

Yes, you have the right part

Just check that there is a washer either side of the circlip (pull the gear off the shaft to look)

 

As for the starter clutch bolts, just take em out one at a time, apply loctite and reassemble. there is nothing to remove, the white arrows in your photo are point at the bolts to loctite

cool.  does the whole shaft/gear assembly slide right out, or does the gears slide off the shaft...and are there anything to hold it in there and keep it from falling out?
