Can't find neutral

I bought my 250 crf last year I rode it a few times and once in a while I had trouble putting it into neutral. Today I decided to get the bike back out for the spring and now I can't put the bike into neutral. It was in neutral during the winter storage, but after I tried shifting it into gear and back out I can't find neutral at all. It goes right from 1st to 2nd and back to 1st.

Be real delicate with it, it's there. Almost every dirtbike I owned you had to be delicate to find neutral.

Does it go into neutral easily when the engine is off?

probably have your idle a little low. blip the throttle a little while going for neutral, with a soft touch on the shifter you should be able to find it.

I have found if you put in first then rock the bike (with the clutch out) a couple times to really seat it, then back out very gently it helps to find neutral.
