Putting a new protaper chain on factory sprocket

I have a 13 kx450 with only about 5 or 6 hrs on it. Do I need to buy sprockets with new pro taper gold link chain or am I ok with slap it on n ride?

As long as its the same size chain your good to go

I would say you'll be OK. If you said your sprockets had 50hrs on them I would have said the opposite...

I would replace the mediocre OEM sprockets with quality ones. The short life of the stockers will also reduce the lifespan of your nice new chain.

The stock chain is what eats the OEM sprockets. the second I get a new bike home I put a nice

Chain on it before riding and I'll get 30+ hours out of the set, which is pretty good for aluminum sprockets. On a 450 I would just buy a nice chain and steel sprockets if my sprockets were shot, which is what I do once the original set bite the dust.

Thanks.
