KTM forks

Recommended Posts

So I'm looking at revalving my 2006 KTM 200 xc-w

I have a set of 2001 KTM 125sx front forks on it and the stock set. The person I bought it from put the 125 forks on because it was having speed wobble issues.

I want to know if the two sets of forks are different other than the valving.

Should I use the 01 SX forks or the 06 XC-W forks?

Outer tube diameter (triple clamp mount) and axle diameter size (besides the internal valving) are the primary differences. 2006 forks are a much better platform to start with. XCWs are a little soft for MX use, but work better in the woods. 2005/2006 were the first years that WP forks were somewhat usable without a major rework.
