Don't do this!

Recommended Posts

Newish to me '97 cr250 gas ran good for the last month. Yesterday I pull it out of the shed and flip the fuel to start it up and fuel pours from overflow vent...urg. Wtf, close valve and tap side of carb hoping to seat float valve, no go :( Pull carb and this is what I found!!! Don't do it folks, buy a seal, or make one, or recondition the original one...

All is good after some love...

Are you joking? Did someone honestly put silicone there? It's a blessing you found it when you did as opposed to out on the trail far from tools & your truck.

Your lucky, IMO fuel leak could have been you least problem, you could have developed a major air leak and stopped pulling fuel, you could have went real lean and fried, your lucky day for sure.
