Is my cylinder still usable?

I bot a 07 kx250f off CL and rod bearing is bad so i replaced it then when i went to put the cylinder on i noticed this notch on it. the bike ran berfore i took it apart but just not sure if it will for long what do you guys think?

I'd have it repaired. You do NOT want to skimp out on a motor. Especially a four stroke as it will tear itself apart if something breaks.

Definitely have it fixed., just send it out and have it replated. Not worth taking the chance after tearing it all apart. If you plan on keeping the bike it it's money well spent. Send it to Powerseal USA. They have done a couple for me and countless for other guys I know. Quick turn around and top notch work. They will supply the piston and rings matched to the cylinder if you like.

Replate it , the nikasil may chip off more with a fresh ring . i had one of these on my sons 03 cr125 i just bought a new cylinder .

rather than replate it I would buy a Cylinder Works direct replacement cylinder.

or get a complete piston and cyl kit,

or get a big bore cyl and piston kit!

 

Its cheaper and faster to buy a replacement than to send it out to be replated
