Vet C class what is it

Recommended Posts

And then as you become older than dirt its Super Sr.

Most riders start in a "C" class of some sort, by bike CC or age. As you gain experience or points you get promoted up. Sometimes you can self promote if you feel your fast enough. Not all C Vet classes are the same so ask your promoter about age limits ect.

If you have never raced you may have to start in a C class, some races are run that way. It is much easier to start in a C class and move up than to go in a B class and move down.

Usually vet class is divided up. Like there is a 30+ C, 40+ C, 50+C, etc. just for older riders starting out that dont want to race with us crazy kids

One hint here, don't say OLD to a VET A,  unless you wish to get roosted all day long! Oh yes, VET A riders are very good at running your ass into the weeds at their discretion! There is a specific reason they are called VET A.

Dont go out there and assume its all guys 30+ who have never raced. That is not the case. lol. Sure its not A class, but there are guys out there still doing jumps some much younger B riders dont do..its kinda messed up really lol. Just cuz theyre older doesnt mean they sandbag less ;-). But for the most part they have jobs and/or families and dont go TOO over the top. Anyways, its still fun, and IS intended for newer riders which there are some as well. Good news is the class is never nearly as full as say normal C class...so you wont be crammed in there.

Around here though, they will run two classes like that together because both are small gates...so they do two gate drops...one starts one class, then briefly afterwards the 2nd class starts...so thered be a few more riders then a normal 30+ C race at that point.

Isn't that the case.  Every year, we have a couple of new Vet C entries that will go 1-1, jumping everything, running at B/A pace and never raced before...
