I wouldn't make that trade, 8 year old 4 stroke mx bike, bound to have valve problems very soon[/quote He claims to have rebuilt the top and bottom of the engine, he has receipts, do you think that would be worth it??

Don't listen to all of these guys,  If you know how to do the work, it won't cost 1500 unless it throws a rod through the case, drops all 4 valves destroying the head, and the cylinder wall is scratched by the piston. I put a crank, piston, and shimmed my 07 Rm-z 250 for just under 400 dollars.  The 06 rmz 250 is notorious for overheating problems, and is generally seen as a terrible bike.  I still would not swap him, because it's kind of a sketchy deal in the first place.  Plus, I'm assuming you know what's in the engine in your bike.  You can't trust him on what he says. He's trying to make money.  However, 4 strokes are not as maintanence heavy like everyone is trying to say.
