RM250 Break-In Ride

Recommended Posts

Thanks for posting man   I enjoyed the ride.  Be careful riding your bike out there in the desert.  Remember "Breaking Bad" the train robbery episode?  You vid sort of reminds me of that :)

I'm also happy to see I'm not the only who doesn't break their new engine in gently.  I mean it's tough to hear the revs in the video, but it looks like you're givin 'er.

This has been my break-in procedure on the last few.

- Start bike with choke on and attain immediate forward motion

- After a hundred feet or so reach down and kill choke

- Ride fairly easy for about a mile or so, varying throttle position

- Feels like it's warm enough....ride it like I stole it...lol

I warmed it up in the garage a couple of heat cycles letting it cool down. About the first 10 minutes under load and then it's hammer time! So far so good! I think with modern materials and machining tolerances a break-in period is significantly reduced.
