This should be an obvious problem...

Recommended Posts

Hey guys

I am having a problem with my bike and it should be an easy fix , but nothing obvious is showing , however , as I'm new to DRZ's , I'm probably missing something right in front of my face.

About a month ago , I came off in the sand at slow speed , and the bike went down on throttle side.

Due to injury , I had to get the bike taken home as I was unable to ride it. (The battery was taken out to jump start a car , then remounted)

A week later , the bike fired up fine in the garage .

I then stuck it on charge on the ctek (All still connected to bike)

A couple of weeks later again and it won't start.

When pressing the start button , you get nothing. No clicking noise , no turning over . It's like the wire has been cut from the switch although it looks fine inside.

All lights , indicators work fine.   front brake is still activating the brake light.

Got me stumped as it's just sat there and did start a week after crash but now , nothing.

Any pointers??

cheers guys

I have done the side stand mod by the way.

Pretty sure the wiring is still good there

Actually Evilranger

There was a lot of slack in the clutch at the lever , so just tightened up cable , but hasn't worked.

Still nada

( thought that may have been it then)

Its only 3000klms  from new so all cabling is stretching in.

Thanks Evil

Just went back out and checked the wire from the clutch lever that disables the start.

Wiggled it and engine turned over.

plug seems a little loose.

I was looking on wrong side of bars.

Thanks mate

bypass the clutch and sidestand 'safety' items. they'll never leave you stranded once they're gone.
