03 125 Clutch adjustment

Recommended Posts

So i took the advice on here and put in the 107.5 and 17.5 jets and took out the snorkel and it runs way better now but the clutch still doesnt adjust right. It doesnt grab until the lever is almost all the way out. I put a new Barnett Clutch pack and springs in it but its still the same. The adjustment at the lever is right but is there something else that can affect this?

Adjust the cable so there's a little bit more free play.

No.

Give it a bit more free play.

It's either that, or it was put back together wrong.

I can try that but then it will be even looser. Is there an internal adjustment? Down on the motor?

Down on the motor won't do Jack for what you want.

If you want the engagement to start closer to the grip, give it a bit more slack.

You will have to live with a bit more slack at the lever, but, that's how it works, and as long as there isn't so much slack that the clutch can't disengage fully, it hurts nothing.
