1998 yz250 50 tooth going to 51 tooth

hey guys I ride a lot of single track and fire road. my bike has a 14t front and 50 tooth rear now.

I guy I ride with has a 2001 yz250 with 14t front and 51t rear. I have not road his bike,

I want to be in second gear with more RPM but less speed then I have now.

will I notice the one tooth difference in the rear?????

I don't know your skill level, but you should notice the difference. I've been riding for decades, so one tooth difference is definitely noticeable to me, but not so much for my buddies who haven't ridden that much.
