Help front forks triple clamp bent?

Recommended Posts

OK so I crashed last weekend and I picked up my bike. The bar clamps clearly looked bent the right one was further towards the front tire then the right. And the marks to make sure the bars are straight on the clamps were 1 off of eachother. I took my bars off and the clamps put the clamps back on and then they are straight. But if I put my bars straight the tire looks a little to the left. Is it the triple clamps? Forks twisted?

Did you Set the front tire before you tightened the axle clamp ?  When you put the forks back in the triples was there any resistance ?(assuming you you removed both the top & bottom clamps ) If not, check your owners manual on assembly/ dissemble y of your front end .take it apart and re-assemble it properly (good time to grease it )..Compress each of your forks by hand when you have them off(,,just too see if they feel the same)

The forks should slide back into both clamps with little resistance ,, mount fr.wheel and re-check .

Have fun,
