problems with my 88 cr500

Hey I just bought a 88 cr500, the engine was rebuilt from top to bottom, has great compression and it well not run right, when it is cold it well start with the first or second kick, but when it warms up it is hell trying to get it started again, it doesn't seem real fast as I know it should be it bust out when your getting on it, and I can not feel the power band kick in,I checked the reeds and they seam fine I'm not sure what to do with it if anyone here can help me out I would greatly appreciate it

You need to take a look at jetting. Post up in the 'Honda 2 stroke' section to see if your jets are the same as recommended. While you are at it, clean the carburetor out. You are either jetted wrong or gummed up.

Oh OK well someone told me to hold them up to a light and if u can see light through them there bad? And I ordered some v force 3 reeds, cage and spacer today just to replace them

Might be a dumb question but how much gas do I need to pour in the back
