Sprocket set up for yz125

Recommended Posts

Hey guys. I've got a 2005 yz125 and i wanted to switch my back sprocket from a 48t to a 52 or 54t. Any suggestions on which way i should go and would i need to get a bigger chain? Btw i believe my front sprocket is a 13 and i will be riding mostly trails but some track riding as well. Thanks

Adding more teeth brings top speed down and brings an increase in Torque. I love my 13/ 50 set up. Won many championships  with it on my 125. Bigger the teeth the more links in the chain you will need. On my yz250 I run the 53. I have tried many sprockets and always end up with the 50 on the 125 and the 53 on the 250. I can lean the 125 very far over and it will climb back up easily.
