Rekluse E-Axle - Making it work.

Recommended Posts

I just bought a Rekluse E-axle for my YZ250.   My YZ is an '01 but the axle info says for "02 and up".  I looked at an OEM parts list and the '01 and '02 have the same axle and the same lower fork legs BUT the '02 lists different axle spacers and front hub.   Has anyone tried this combo?  To fit the axle to my '01, I'll probably have to mess with spacer lengths but it seems doable.  I'm glad I have a lathe.  I may have to start from scratch and make new spacers.

I had one on my KTM200, but can't give you any feedback on it. That thing was pure evil in the handling department, with or without that E-axle.

Hopefully, I'll have better luck.. I WILL make it work.

Has anyone exchanged a front wheel from an '01 to '02 and later (or the reverse)?  That would give me a hint of what's gonna be not right.

I wonder why they didn't specify the e-axle as fitting on YZ's older that '02?  Anyway, it can't be that hard and I see axle spacers on ebay all the time.

And thanks for the link!

As for me personally, I sold that E-axle to another TT'er.  I couldn't make it work on my '01 YZ.

I see the Speedynamics unit is only for KTM's.
