I ordered up a set of Shinko 700's for my KTM 400 EXC today

Recommended Posts

Well, I am getting ready to register my bike for the street here in Albuquerque, New Mexico, and I need a set of DOT rated tires. I have spent hours looking at reviews, and decided to go with the Shinko 700's front and rear. I wanted a 50/50 tire, and it came down to the Shinko 244's or the 700's. The 700's have a higher max pressure, and a higher load limit. they also have a reinforced side lug. My bike only weighs 248 pounds, so I don't need the extra capacity, but I am hoping that they will survive punctures and rocks a little better than the light weight 244's in the desert. I also bought a set of Bridgestone Ultra Heavy duty tubes. I'm running stock rims, so I got 3.00-21's up front, and 4.60-18 rears. I'll report back when I get them. I can't wait !
