Possible crf100f purchase.

Recommended Posts

I'm looking at some CRF100's for my 11 year old son.

I have found an 06 that from pictures looks really clean and hardly used. Guy states its in perfect condition and has zero issues.

He is a couple hours from me, so I haven't seen it in person but we have basically worked out the price already. His asking price was out of my budget, so I wanted t make sure he would take what I'm willing to pay before making the trip.

So we worked out the price, and are setting up a time to meet. He then tells me he removed the oil and gas from the bike, as he was preparing it for cross country transportation.

I'm now a little concerned, and not sure why.

I know I can just bring a quart of oil, and a gallon of gas to make sure it starts and runs fine before finalizing the deal, but for some reason I'm second guessing the deal.

Any advice?

Dunno why he would be preparing it for a cross-country journey. But if he were, taking out the fluids makes sense because the bike could end up on its side during shipping.

It's weird enough to be believable.
