Please help! Dirt bike carb overflowing

Recommended Posts

Hello, I have a 1987 Suzuki dr125, when I turn the gas on and start the engine my bike leaks gas out the overflow tube and will continue to do so until the gas is turned off even If the engine is not running. I have taken the carb off and checked it and the float does not appear to be sticking. I am at a complete stand still as I do not know what is wrong. Please help me I would greatly appreciate it.

Your bike needs a new float needle and seat. Some bikes only come with the needle as the seat is machined into the carb and non replaceable. Once replaced, set your float height.

In addition, check your float to make sure it actually floats. If it doesn't it won't force that before closed to shut the fuel off.

Thanks guys, I'll go pick up a can of carb cleaner and I'll try cleaning it, if that doesn't work I'll get back to you guys.
