1987 RM125 minor coolant dripping issue

Recommended Posts

Hello everyone, new here.

I have a nice condition 1987 RM125 that was semi restored.  Frame was cleaned and repainted, engine repainted, various bearings and seals replaced.  New Top end ect.

The bike runs great, now the thing is the crankshaft has a small groove on it where the seals are for the water pump "common problem I know".

It was cleaned up with emery cloth and new seals installed.

When the bike is fired up cold, a few drips of coolant will come out of the vent, it stops when the engine is warm and also does not leak when the bike is not running.

Could this still be due to the crankshaft being worn?.  It seems odd that it stops when warmed up.  The head gasket is fine as well as the rad cap ect.

What's your take on the situation.

Thanks.
