DRZ/KLX 125 FMF Muff Mod

Recommended Posts

FMF Power Core 4 with Spark Arrester - just a bit quieter:

Solution:

Cut a piece approx. 1 to 1.5 inch length, bevel cut the end as desired and debur.

Stock is about .750 ID, this is .857 ID.  It knocks the sound down quite a bit

compared to the 1.125 FMF outlet and actually works better if stock displacement.

Take your time and do some grinding - it is good therapy.FmfMod (1).JPGFmfMod (2).JPGFmfMod (3).JPGFmfMod (4).JPG

Update - bored out insert with dremel to .90 inch ID, approx. same as stock header pipe ID, OD of ~1.00 inch.  Nice.

Very cool. Any noticeable change in power output?

I would think not for most of the powerband until you got to the upper part of it.

My DRZ has a Turbine Core 2 is just loud enough to give me headaches while I'm doing jetting changes and testing. Was thinking about putting a stock can back on it but besides the hassle of finding one and the cost (probably low I know), I didn't want to give up any performance.  -Ed
