2003 RM 250 lighting options

Recommended Posts

Hello!

Looking for a light to put on my 03 RM 250, was thinking of...http://www.ebay.com/itm/Universal-Off-Road-Dirt-Bike-StreetFighter-Vision-Headlight-Fit-XR-CRF-KLX-White-/281273691426?pt=Motorcycles_Parts_Accessories&hash=item417d37ed22&vxp=mtr

But I am not sure how to wire it. Could I just slice into the power jet system? Thanks!

My brother hooked a low volt flashlight up that way rigged it up on an extra number plate but the light would dim at low rpms I have been looking around for some lighting I found a company on ebay that says they have a lighting stator for the rm I even emailed them and asked the tech if he could confirm that it would work on my 02 rm 250 he said yes but I didn't want to take the chance and spend the 175.00 or something like that my bro and friends have tried lighting stators and they didn't work so I am leary to try one so I went with this for now looks like I will only get about 1.5 hours out of it with both light they are 2 18w 12v led lights ebay 28.00140428_255_zpsc0ac8b95.jpg   140428_257_zps59bee0b3.jpg

Now I am thinking this http://www.ebay.com/itm/201057248110?_trksid=p2055120.m1438.l2649&ssPageName=STRK%3AMEBIDX%3AIT

With this light bar behind it http://www.ebay.com/itm/251374878415?_trksid=p2055120.m1438.l2649&ssPageName=STRK%3AMEBIDX%3AIT

On the the power jet circuit. 18w is low enough draw, and im sure the bar is super bright. Now all i need is some one to help me design a wire setup that will include a rectifier, switch and make it all work.

Rectifier, http://www.ebay.com/itm/Voltage-Regulator-Rectifier-Gy6-150cc-200cc-250cc-ATV-Dirt-Bike-Gokart-Taotao-/181376943639?pt=Motors_ATV_Parts_Accessories&hash=item2a3ae88617&vxp=mtr

And I have some wire. Thinking of using 18 gauge? Should be enough. Only problem is, can my RM provide a constant 12v and 1.5 amps? Prob not.

Looking at 6800mah rechargeable batteries, could prob run some wires to the airbox with the battery or make something behind the plate that mounts to the frame. Just not sure what battery pack to get and how to wire a switch in.
