A silly carb question

Recommended Posts

I know...I should know this.  I have an '09 XT250 and I wanted to try turning out the idle screw 2.5-3 turns.  Maybe do the Z1 mod.

But...its a slotted screw.  Is "one turn" 180 degrees, or a complete 360 degrees?

Thanks

First off, lets get your terminology right. When you say "idle screw" that implies the idle speed screw. If you mean to be describing the idle circuit mixture screw, that's called the fuel screw, it meters fuel for the idle/pilot jet circuit.

I assume you're asking about the fuel screw, because if you backed off the idle speed screw that much, the bike wouldn't idle.

One turns means a complete 360*. IN is leaner, OUT is richer.
