Cleaning Fork, Rim Metal, etc.

Recommended Posts

My '07 CRF230F has some (very) minor surface contamination (rust?) on the handle bars and fork tubes.  What is the best/safest way to clean them?  Scotch brite pad with soap and water?  Brillo pad?  Is there some product I can apply afterwards to protect the metal surfaces?

I use wd-40 and a green scotch brite . Spray it down, scrub a little with the scotchbrite , spray again and wipe clean with a soft rag or old t-shirt material. Forgot to add you can use marvel mystery oil too it cleans even better .

Flitz metal polish. Kinda expensive but leaves a protectant finish on it.
