Picking up 2014 xc-w 250

Recommended Posts

Coming off an rmz250 setup for woods. Rode my buds new 2014 300 xc-w and it was a beast. He's running 14-52 gearing which he said helped some. I race hare scrambles and enduros that are really tight up here. Mostly 2nd-3rd on my rmz.

I know I'm going to want to tone this thing down and thinking 13-48 gearing which would be close to his and I can run the stock chain.

Will I notice a difference in the map switch, is it worth using I already have a switch I can use?

How should I set up the power valve?

I'm sea level to 1300ft any jetting suggestions?

I wouldn't touch anything until you get it out for at least a few rides.  Then you'll have a baseline to start working from.  If you already have a map switch throw it on and see if you notice anything (I didn't).
