04 rm 250 fork height.

Recommended Posts

I'm sure this has been asked several times. Just put seals in my forks on my 04 rm250 and I'm coming from a Kawi background. I was wondering what fork height should be on this bike. Used to run my Kawi at 10mm from the top of the fork tube(not the cap). What should I run my rm? Thank you.

Try the standard position first. Theres a ring around the forks at about 5-10 mm. Line the groove up with the top of the triple clamp. It's what I run and I don't have any problems with the forks but I haven't tried changing it.

If you're getting head shake at high speeds and G outs, try lowering the forks to flush with the clamps.  I was under sprung slightly on my 06 rm and at my local track there was a g out section that would cause crazy head shake.  I lowered the forks and it all be eliminated the head shake.  The rm still had the outstanding cornering too.  Eventually I put heavier springs in the forks and went back to the standard position of the groove even with the top clamp...
