2001 Drz400e crazy idle

Well I took my carb out the other day (it's the slant body fcr) and I turned the fuel screw all the way in and it seemed to take awhile(for some reason I didn't count the turns). So I just turned it out like 2.5 turns and since then it will start sporadically revving, sometimes up to redline. Even as soon as I start it some times! is this a fuel screw problem? I also ground down the nub on the AP diaphragm and wired the arms together what could this be?

It shouldn't be revving to the Moon ....Shoot !!

Confirm a smooth throttle action , confirm cable free play .

The Eddie Mod shouldn't have any effect on the idle circuit....

You may have an air leak... check the carb is seated in the intake boot correctly....

Run thru the procedure in the FAQ's to set your fuel screw

Thanks a lot guys!! just installed a new throttle cabe to it's not that I'll check for at leaks and set the fuel screw today and hopefully that does the job!

Leaking air boot was the problem runs like a Champ now thanks a lot!!

If whenever you have an issue with your bike directly after a reassemble etc,  more than likely it's related to this.....

 

.Usually just a matter of going over you work with scrutiny....
