Wiring issues Aussie crf450x

Recommended Posts

I have traced and sorted most of the wiring on my crf450x however can't seem to work out the remaining ones by the rear fender/air box

I have these two green and two brown wires plus a green/yellow wire

Also have this set of blue, green, black and red wires.

Looks like red wire traces back to speedo, blue headlight? But just can't work it out

Anyone with an Australian version of the crf450x able to help out?

I think from memory the two green and brown ones going to the rear, both greens are earth, brown is power. One is for the rear brake light and one for the number plate light? This is probably wrong as I haven't looked at mine in a while.

"Most of the wiring"? So you have the blinkers wired & working at least?

The wire coming from my rear brake light (pressure) switch happens to be green with a yellow trace & brown, That should sort that out
Does your bike have the rear brake light switch still?

Pretty sure studbag is correct

Rear guard>

Thin brown (+) & green (-) = LED light above guard

Group of 3 wires>
Larger brown (+) Rear taillight
Green with yellow trace (+) = Rear brake light (fed from brake switch)
Larger green = NEG feed to rear tail / brake light setup

Right blinker
Blue (+)
Green (-)

Left blinker
Orange (+)
Green (-)

What sort of tail / brake light setup are you running?

What sort of dimwit "BUTCHERED" all the wiring? Were they planning on racing Chad Reed so they had to do some major....LOL! weight reduction & cut all the wiring off?

Thanks for your help, reckon that sounds about right. Will give another try on the weekend and see how it goes.

Only other one unsure of was the red wire? Goes straight to the speedo but speedo already has power as high beam light illuminates when turned on.

Turns out the red, green, black and blue aren't used for anything on an aust version of the crf450x.

Indicators and lights connected but have an earthing issue.

I checked out an Aussie 2012 version and these wires just go to a stop.

Speedo is now in and has power but not registering an kmph. Think might have to replace speedo cable?

The green black blue and red go to some thing called ignition. On board not sure what it does but has something to do battery ignition light ( red wire) the others are also for tail lights and etc.
