Pipe heating ?

I'm still a newb to the 4 stroke scene but is it normal for the pipe to get hot immediately after starting ?

I'm having a hard time getting use to the "engine braking",,, other than that it's an easy ride and has great throttle response, oh, and it don't pull my arm's off like the 250 smoker. Get you one. It's late, I'm out of here.  :snore:

thanks for not reading the forumfaq

I did see where you state that the header glow's red, but, what I'm referring to is directly when the engine fire's,  the header is hot.

Yes this is normal. It doesnt take but a couple seconds idiling before the pipe gets hot to the touch.
