Recommended Posts

My friend wanted to know what the "max" rider height would be for the 150rb before moving up to 250r. Hes new to racing and he doesnt want to start off on a 250. Hes 5ft 8in. Any opinions?

I don't look at height and weight more then capabilities.

If you are not a good rider but fit a 450 well. It won't end well.

A 150 isn't a race bike as it is. And a yz 125 is a good bike. The 125 2 strokes will pull hard and as I learned

IF YOU CAN LEARN TO RIDE ON A 125 2 STROKE YOU CAN RIDE ANYTHING.

The problem with people these days is ("bigger the better")

Then they lose the fundament basics...

Learn small dream big.. then go big...

That way you aren't a novice on a 450..

Them 450 novices hurt a lot of &%$#@!ing people whether racing or riding. Because they don't have the skill or techniques.

A  CRF 150r is a race bike as it is.

I do agree, however, skill level are better determinate of how well you fit a bike.

At 5'8", he can ride a CRF150RB quite easily, it just needs some things such a triple clamps that move the bars forward, new bars that are higher and less sweep, and the suspension will need to be valved and resprung.  Other things will need to done to make it more novice friendly such as flywheel weight, FMF Snap or splitter, jetting mods, AP mod, a pipe that adds bottom and mid.  There are a lot of people that are bigger that ride these.  Just check out the 150RB forum.  I love mine.
