PLEASE HELP ! YZF 250 03 CUTTING OUT !

Recommended Posts

Hi guys, wondering if anyone can help me out I've been out on the track today on my yzf 250 03 the track was extremely rutty and towards the end of the day the bike started to cut out but would start again no problem .... Plenty of petrol wondering if it could be an electrical based problem but where to check first. I'm alright with nuts and bolts but electrics are a nightmare !

start with simple things first,

disconnect fuel line at the carb, open petcock check fuel flow

is spark plug wire on the plug firmly

close petcock, open floot bowl drain, remove the jet access nut/plug from the bottom of the floot bowl, ,,,does it have grit on dirt in it?

check electrical plug connections, water got in any of them could cause corrosion, unplug n plug connections that will help achieve a good connection

Start with the simple stuff first.

When was the last time you changed the sparkplug?

Since the track was ruff, if the float level was a little high, you could be flooding out, and the plug got sooted up.
