steering tree/triple clamp rm250 2006

Recommended Posts

Long story short,

my mechanic tried cutting the lower bearing off my steering tree/triple clamp, however he cut the bearing with a grinder and cut into the steering column. The cut didnt go through to the middle of the shaft but is about 3/4 milmetre deep into the steering shaft and about half an inch long. I am scared this will now weeken the steering coloumn. I dont really want this thing snapping on me.

question, do other years tripple clamps fit this 2006 frame? I am thinking the rmz450 2006 might fit?

i cant find specs online as to the size of the forks.

i am freaking out as the cut is at the bottom of the shaft, and i assume this takes the most pressure upon landing jumps. The last thing I want is for this thing to snap.

any ideas!!!

RM125 of 2004-on has the same yokes as the 250, not sure about the RMZ450 though.

As the stem can be separated from the yoke, can you buy one from Suzuki anyway?

Only RM 125/250 clamps will fit. 04-08 RM clamps. Might be able to use stem and possibly whole clamp from 01-up
