What main jet to use in the UK?

Recommended Posts

Hi hope you can help. My sons exhaust has been banned from the MX school so I have had to purchase a stock exhaust of a well known auction site. The little knowledge I have about carbs makes me think the main jet may now be incorrect for the exhaust. I'm in the UK and running a #178 on the main jet and 3 clips from top on the needle. Can anyone inform me if this will be ok for the stock exhaust. My manual says #175 (Europe) but would like clarification. Cheers Steve

Seeing that you are in the UK and the gound is flat and there are no hills then the standard jetting will work.

Sorry just kidding, it doesnt matter where you from the altitude and temperature determines jetting.

What makes you think the main jet is not correct ?

At what throttle opening is the bike not responding ?
