Crf250L Problems

Recommended Posts

Things factory on the L that wear out fast, cause small problems or just need upgraded do to the lack or performance. Let me start by saying The L model is a great purpose built bike off the floor. Even though it lacks whip lash power and weighs a ton, it's make up in smooth usable power all through rpm range, nice smooth ride once it's set for the rider. But things like the paper air filter and non folding shifter. I personally took one from show floor to west Virginia Hatfeild/Mcoy trails and thrashed it for a week and bike held great. Just looking for others input on it.

the grips are cheezy

handle bars are basic but they will work for now

rear fender is stout but gawdy as you would expect from honda

but basicly the bike seems to be built fairly tough

The grips and handlebar are throw away items that get replaced according to the users needs.  The taillight is a DOT/ safety thing that everyone knows they are going to throw away and replace with a compact one.  The tires need replacing for good off road performance too.  A13 tooth front sprocket fixes the tall EPA gearing(which is as good or better then its competition).

Basically it's just like every other dual sport built in it same 50/50 or so category.  Not surprising.  They are built to last, reliable and low maintenance.  Fuel injected too.

Id agree with that. Has anyone ran in the problem of the fuel injection shutting down in its fail safe while riding yet.
