01 KTM 125sx bogging problems

Recommended Posts

Hey guys,  I am relatively new to the 2 stroke world but picked this bike up at a  steal.  After riding it, I find it bogs when revving high.  It idles fine and starts fine, just seems to have no power.  I'm coming from a 06 Crf250 so i'm not sure if it just has a lot less power or if it needs tinkering with.  Any feedback would be much appreciated.  Thanks

look in the FAQ at top of page here to find tips on the 125/200 motors which are the same. It may be worn out top end, power valve gummed up or setting, PV parts worn out, jetting..........

Could have a worn top end easiest way to check is if u r able to push ur kick starter down with ur hand then it's time for a new piston and rings

Or you could have a fuel/jetting problem search some threads there are a lot on here about 125sx intake and jetting

Ya pop the power valve cover open see if it looks clean or Gummed up. It could possibly be stuck open. Read up more on ur specific model and adjustment for the power valve it's easy to do
