07 300 XC Headlight

Recommended Posts

I recently bought a 2007 ktm xc 300 and it came with a headlight I can put on. I'm looking at the electrical and I see a yellow and white wire. I found out that the yellow wire is AC power and white is also AC power, just less. I am going to hook the headlight up to the yellow wire, however I think I need a regulator. This http://goo.gl/6ESXWc is the headlight, and at the bottom it says "on some xc models a voltage regulator (here http://goo.gl/pL0BSa) is needed" I think this applies to me. So my question is, do you think I'm right about the yellow wire and do you think I need a regulator? If so, do I have to buy the $60 one? Any alternatives? Thanks in advance.

If you do not have a regulator you need one..   Some XC models come with a reg.  Not sure about 07's..  As far as I know the  wires you need are yellow and brown.  Yellow is the hot, brown is the return.  White goes to the lights after the light switch.  The regulator is installed after the switch so that it only works when the switch is in the on position
