removal of auto de-compression

Recommended Posts

I've been having problems with the autoDeCompression , so I pressed it off the cam.
I did retain the manual decompression stuff. This is a common mod.
The holes pictured must be plugged to get proper lubrication to the cam lifters, etc.
My question; people say they used JB Weld with good success. Do you end up with a small
Epoxy plug or do you put the jb weld all the way Around like a ring of epoxy?
(Jb weld is simply epoxy with metal fillers by
The way)

Is it neccessary to remove the pins pictured as well ?

thanks!

I wouldn't recommend using jb weld, with the expansion and contraction from the heat, it may dislodge. I took mine down to the local welding shop and had them tig weld it for $20...definately worth the piece of mind.

Mine was removed from the PO. It has a steel ring, with a tight fit, pressed over those holes.
