2013 YZ250F valve shim adjustment

Recommended Posts

Hi,

I am trying to search a thread for adjusting valves on a 2013 yz250f, if anyone can refer me to a page to help me it would be appreciated or if not I have a couple of simple questions...

* what shim or adjusting pad would be on the exhaust and intake e.g. 300mm etc

I have checked the valve clearance and the there is only 1 exhaust valve that is out of spec, exhaust should be between 0.17-0.22 and mine was reading 0.229 so I want to get this adjusted. this is my first timing adjusting the valves, I have watched a video that has gave me a good idea and have been studying the owners manual (the bible) and I feel more than confident to do it, dosent look hard and I am aware of the small bits that could potentially fall into the motor without care. any other tips would be appreciated

I just did the valves myself, look it up under my profile.

And btw, I would not bother adjusting that valve if the other exhaust is very close to it. But if you are loosing sleep over it...

you can actually find a few videos on youtube for valve adjustment on older YZ or WR bikes. Its the same exact process.
