What is the Best brand for a 250 four stroke?

I am getting a new dirt bike i currently have a Honda CR125 (two stroke) and i want to know what is the most reliable and most power. Money is not a problem but i dont want a KTM. I am leaning towards a Kawasaki or Yamaha. Any comment is helpful ?

Both bike's are great, I would straddle both of them and see how they feel. The Yam is very tall and at almost 6 ft. I can barely touch the ground. The bike is awesome and haul's the mail quickly for a 250.

Here's how I've kind of understood the differences between the Japanese manufactures:

 

-  Yamaha:  Known for reliability

-  Suzuki:  Known for handling

-  Kawasaki:  Known for a strong engine

-  Honda:  Good, not great, at all three

 

That said (and I'm sure someone is going to say I'm full of it), it's basically pick your color and stick to the maintenance schedule religiously.  You'll have a great bike either way.

Where are you going to ride this new bike? Why not the KTM? My dessert riding buddies have all switched to the KTM 300's and can't say enough about those bikes.  They rip.

I had a KTM awhile ago i took good care of it all the time and after 3 months it blew. Wasn't very happy then i got my CR125 and i haven't  had a problem with it ?

If it blew up, you obviously didn't take that good care of it, bikes don't just blow up for no reason

ANY bike could do that the exact same thing, it doesn't make them bad bike's at all

I would say between the ones u have listed the kawi is the best, but the ktm is much better (the 250sxf). Your reason for ruling out ktm doesn't sound like a good one. They make the best bikes out there.

If you want new buy a leftover old school carbureted Yamaha - cheap!

All the 250's youre looking at are meant for racing. KTM's are great for racing with the proper suspension setup. Their 250's engines put out plenty of power in stock trim so you are able to put money into the places where it helps most like suspension.

I know that but with a KTM can you just free ride it and not do much racing

Yes they make a model for both trails and racking for the 4 stroke I think called the (I could have messed these up) xcf. But u should look into the ktm 250xc or 250mxc which are both 2 strokes for racing and trails
