Fork oil leak?

Had a long road trip with bike in truck bed. After driving it looks like some oil leaked out of the left fork seal. Is this a worry. It was not strapped down super tight. But was strapped for 8 hours. Safe to ride?

It's likely okay to ride as long as you didn't lose much oil but you probably have dust under your seals. I use a 35 mm film negative to slide between my fork and seals to clean the debris out if there.

In future, get a wheel chock that stops the forks from compressing, it's better for your springs in the long run and helps prevent oil leakage during travel ?

If you change the seals put in the SKF ones ..... Recommend them!!

+1 on the wheel chocks. Got them for all my bikes after I arrived one day at the local riding area with fork oil all over my bike.

You can build a fork block out of a 2x4, just cut one end in an oval shape and measure to fit...

Did not even cinch it down enough to use my wheel chock. Gonna put in new seals to b safe

It's the negitive from a 35mm film camera, and yes they do still sell it.

Are fork seals easy to replace on your own? Or worth sending to a shop?

using tie downs and having the forks compressed does not hurt them or make them leak.  i dont know why so many people think that it will make them leak

Got new seal kit. Got all the manuals ... And almost all the tools. What size is the center bolt? 20mm?

What's the difference between the honda ss19 and ss7? I used ss7 in my 150rb and it's a 5 weight....would it work in my 2013 crf250r?
