Ktm 300 jetting help

Recommended Posts

Hi, Ive got a 2010 ktm 300 xcw. I'm installing a JD jet kit tomm. My elevation is 800-1700ft. I ride woods harescramble. Any tips on jetting? I've heard running a 40 pilot jet?

A 38 pilot

Red needle on clip position 4

A 162 main jet

Set the air screw at 1.5 to 1.75 turns out (anti clockwise)

This should work for fast trail riding and racing in your conditions. I know a few 2010/11 300s with this setting and it works fine.

A 40 pilot is getting fairly large, almost too large to be clean at low throttle. A 38 with the airscrew wound in a bit would richen up the low throttle if required.

Good luck, let us know how you get on with it

There is an entire thread of just the 300's jetting here. The JD kit will recommend a starting point and you can make changes from there. If you have any questions you can email JD and they will walk you through what ever problems you are having.
