SA end cap replacement

Recommended Posts

Just putting this out there in case someone has by chance done this. I like the stock silencer on my 14 300RR; I note that EEng has SA endcaps for KTMs and wonder if anyone has adapted one of these for the Beta? I just may purchase the replacement screens and try to develop something to fit the stock endcap. Just thinking out loud. TIA Tom

The silencer on the Beta 300 isn't SA? I never paid attention.. just figured they all were. The 300 I have is very quiet.

It is very quiet and that's why I like it, but I have been persuaded by others no to mess with the screen type SA's as they need to be cleaned often, even with todays syn oils.

Hawaii; that was my thought process - instead I will go with the shorty Q through the dealer(of course I'll have to wait 3 months to get it) or get it from Dave and pay extra. It just burns my chaps that we even have to have them when we have four wheel vehicles in the back country with cat converters that are probably  in the 1,000 deg range when working hard, makes a lot of sense. I'll get down off my soapbox now.

This is very surprising to me also! All of the 4-strokes come with a SA muffler, I would have thought that Beta included one on the 2-smokes.

Have you looked for the stamped statement on the underside of the muffler? I know there has been a few here that thought the 4-strokes "did not" come with one, as the stamped statement was hidden underneath almost not readible.

I would be very surprised. As not including one on the smokers takes away from the "Play Bike" statement/mind-set of BETA...

It's OK to be surprised - Beta (and KTM for the most part) ship their bikes without spark arrestors. At one point I had heard that was to satisfy some government regulation.

Why do you have to wait 3 months to get it? I get my parts fast through my dealer.. is there a shortage of these SA?  Really these bikes are so fricken quiet stock. I like it. I can't imagine how much more quiet it could be. I go through my dealer first usually but here's some after googling.. I'd go dealer first though.. but if you didn't want to there's options.

Hawaii; nothing to do with Beta USA just my dealer, president of the local procrastinators club been waiting for my Beta hat since November 1st. I love the silencer on the bike now, but don't need a ticket from the state fish cops to propel me towards an SA. I had looked at get dirty's, but I'm a cheap SOB when I know I can get it for less and don't want to pay the $15 for shipping and I do want the shorty. On my YZ I felt the TCII was quieter than my Q (not stealth), but that's just my opinion.

The Q is super quiet. The stocker doesn't have a SA.
